My wife purchased the scale for us both to use. After reading the manual (RTM), we programmed it for each of us, and it seems to work well. The body fat/water content is, well, I think we all know how accurate BMI type calculations are. My only problem with it is that my wife is "P1" and I'm "P2", which means....wait for it....that I.... have to push the button twice with my toe, instead of once.

I got this scale because I got the $10 off and it looked like a nice scale. I liked the idea that it could program your body fat. However, I've had it only a month or so and have already had to replace the battery twice!!! I'm not sure if it is a faulty scale or what, but I weighed myself once, then the next time I got on it said "LO", then it wouldn't even go on. I changed the battery and it worked fine - once - then it gave the same message and now it's dead. At $4 a battery, this is turning out to be a very expensive scale. I, too, would return it if I hadn't tossed the box.

I consider myself an intelligent person, but I can not figure out how to get this scale to work. I programmed in my information, but now every time I want to weigh myself I have to RE-program the information (or scroll through it), when all I want to do is step on the scale. It's also a pain that you have to turn the scale on every time you want to weigh. Other models I've seen allow you to turn the scale on by tapping it with your foot, but not this one--you have to push the "on" button, and then scroll to your saved information, and then push "set" through all the information again, and then wait for the 0.0 to show up. Then, half the time, the scale turns itself off before you ever step on it, so you have to repeat this several times until you can get it to work. I have yet to be able to get the body fat percentage to show up, even if I do wipe my feet with a wet paper towel as the instructions suggest. If I hadn't thrown away the box (poor judgment on my part, but it was after Christmas and the boxes were taking over the house), I would take it back to the store. As it is, I'm going to contact Taylor and see if maybe I just got a defective scale. But I don't think I did--I think it's just a crappy scale.
