This is a very accurate scale IF you put it on a hard & level surface. I used a spare 12 x 12 tile - works great! Very accurate. The body fat etc. is a guide, I find it ok for trends .... which is what I expected. If you want extreme accuracy, this isn't it. Buy calipers or a dunk tank! It looks great, which makes it a little nicer to step on every day. I would buy it again.

I bought this item not from amazon but from frontgate at the full price and I feel foolish to have found it here so much cheaper. I've been very happy with the scale and all it's claims. It was always accurate because I could double check by getting on my mother's scale and the one I have access to at work. The only difficulty I'm having is replacing the batteries which lasted with constant use for more than a year. Because I like the scale so much, and have no intention of replacing the entire scale because the batteries died, I'm on the net now looking for batteries. The previous review completely confused me because I'm so happy with this purchase (even though I obviously spent too much and recommend always searching amazon first for a product you need). I felt I owed other customers a second opinion.

I ordered this puppy thinking it would be amazing after a friend's glowing rerview of the brand (He had a Zeta). Couldn't be further from the truth! It didnt work... I would weight 170 lbs then get off, get back on and weight 65 lbs - cute trick but not possible in the real world of a size 12. Now it says I weight 68 lbs every time I get on it. And trust me, I'm not 12 years old!
I bought this and another model at the same time (one for mom), they both had similar issues. I even had some friends check it out when they were over. Same problem for them too.
So I figured what the heck, I'll replace them for the same brand and model... maybe its some crazy fluke? I mean, how on earth could two different models of scale be defective twice? These are not $20 hardware store scales, after all!
I was wrong... defective again.., both of them... crazy! The numbers on one wont even come up on this one when I took the battery tag off. It's all dashes and dots and peices of what you can tell may be digital numbers IF the rest of the peice were there.
So I did a little research and am going to replace these with Prevention's suggestion of the HoMedics Tri-Fitness Scale (also on sale at Amazon) for about the same price.
Pretty but worthless... hey, that makes it pretty worthless, yes?
