This scale is easily offended if you touch it wrong. I have had to pick it up, turn it over and readjust it twice (quite a process as it's very heavy) in less than two months because my housekeeper bumped it somewhat when she was dusting near it. Not what I expected at this price point. I figured it would be as sturdy as the one in my doctor's office (which is a different brand but same design). I would not purchase this brand of scale again.

"Inaccurate scale, poor customer service" 2009-08-10

I purchased this scale after my baby was born, to track my weight loss and her weight gain. I have used, and trusted this thing for two years.

Last week, I went to the doctor and was shocked to learn that I weigh eight pounds less than I thought I did. I weighed myself on two scales in the office, because I wanted to be sure, and weighed myself again when I got home. Yup, it's wrong.

I called the company, and was told that they will be more than happy to replace it for me, with a brand new scale, which sounds great. Only problem is, they want ME to pay to ship my broken scale to them! It's going to cost me around $10, which is half the current price of the scale, to ship it to them.

Can somebody please tell me how it's fair to expect me to pay $30+ to have a working $20 scale?

And what if the replacement doesn't work? (I'm supposed to trust that it will work, when this one didn't??) Then I have to pay AGAIN, for shipping, in order to get a replacement. So then I've paid TWICE the retail price for one scale, still with no guarantee that it will work.

I even called the corporate office, to find out why they think this is a good policy. I was told that it would simply be cost-prohibitive for them to pay shipping for all of the broken scales that need to be returned.

Really? They have THAT many broken products? I thought they were supposed to make good, reliable products? (That's what I heard, and that's why I chose them. Oops.)

Now, can somebody tell me how Zappos stays in business?

We have been very happy with our previous Taylor Scale purchases, so I bought this for my sons first apartment. He has a very small bathroom and this is a nice small scale that he says is providing what appears to be accuarte weight measurments. Its Black - so I figured it would "hide" dirt - un like the nice Glass Scale we have from Taylor that needs to cleaned from time to time....but I figured my son would NEVER clean the scale so black was a good choice.

This was so inexpensive so I was a bit concerned about the product - but it is a nice little scale. Don't be fooled - this is not as nice as a Taylor Glass Scale or Body Fat Scale (Which we have owned) but if you just need a small, reliable little scale - this one fits the bill. (Looks like it comes in white too!)

Highly Recommeneded as a VALUE scale item !

Based on the 5 star review, I purchased this scale. It really doesn't weigh properly. Added 5 - 10 pounds to every one in the family, based on our older, very expensive scale. Then we tried actual weights.... 16 pounds came up as 11. If it had been consistently wrong, we could have made an adjustment. You get what you pay for? Can't believe the other review! Amazon, for the first time, you have let me down.

I saw this product in a magazine and thought it looked incredible as far as functionality was concerned. I found on amazon and was also pleased with the cost. After receiving and opening however, I was very disappointed. While the functionality that was described existed it was very difficult to read the display, the buttons were too small to work with your toes (which is what you do with a scale, right?) and there were too many steps to follow to get it to do the different functions. Each time I used it I had to have the directions in hand in order to get the proper read out. I decided that I didn't need that many steps to tell me I was fat... I returned it and went back to using my normal scales.

Read the last reviewer's opinion -- it's true that THIS STUPID THING DOESN'T HAVE A RECALL!! The numbers are very hard to see and the color bar is IMPOSSIBLE to see from a standing position, and I'm not that far from the scale (I'm only 5'4"). So what you have to do is step on the scale with pen and paper in hand and then QUICKLY write down all the numbers (I had to do this 5 times to get all the numbers down) and then try to figure out which number went with which reading. This scale was a TOTAL WASTE OF $$.

I have had this scale since April 2006. 9 months and this is what I have to say:

Pros:

1. Being able to weigh yourself to the .1 lb

2. Storing your data plus 3 others

3. Ability to measure fat percentage but I sincerely doubt it's accurate

Cons:

1. Display is unbelievably dim. It took me months to be able to get used to reading it and it does fly through the readouts that you can barely see anyway.

2. The quality for the price. Not worth it.

3. Occasionally I have not stepped on this scale evenly and it's flipped up.

I think the only reason I kept this was because I had already returned 1 scale and just didn't feel like returning another.

Read out is MUCH to dim. You practically have to bend over to see it. I bought this because it's supposed to track your water % and how much weight you've gained/lost. It's too complicated to work. There are too many options and when it's running through your BMI / body fat % / water %, again ~ the read out is too dim to see which section it's actually on. If you move at all, it turns off. TERRIBLE product. I should have known better when I saw that Conair was the manufacturer. Save yourself some money, track your weight yourself the old-fashioned way and get a scale where you can actually see the numbers.

I haven't had other scales to compare this too, but I'm happy with my purchase. Did not have any issues upon receipt, and the initial set up went pretty smooth. This scale has a nice large display, and good features. If you set in your goal weight, the scale will give you the difference between your current weight and both your goal weight and last "weigh-in". Nice feature, without the fluff.

Easy to use... Before stepping on the scale, just press the up or down arrow button to select your user number (can preset goal weights for more than one person). Then press the set button. Wait a few seconds while the scale calibrates itself to zero. Once calibrated step on for your weigh-in. Only takes a few seconds to pinpoint your weight. When it is done, a small buzzer/beeper sounds, then the scale displays your current weight, along with the difference (+/-) in pounds between your current weight and goal weight, also the difference between your current weight and your last weight measurement. Scale turns itself off after a few seconds.

This scale is truly very disappointing. In comparison to other scales it seems to consistently underestimate my weight. Apart from that, the scale shows me completely different readings, sometimes with gaps as large as 7 pounds, if I measure my weight several times in a row with intervals of a few seconds. In short, I think this scale is pretty much useless.

The body fat/water content is, well, I think we all know how accurate BMI type calculations are. My only problem with it is that my wife is "P1" and I'm "P2", which means....wait for it....that I.... have to push the button twice with my toe, instead of once.

I got this scale because I got the $10 off and it looked like a nice scale. I liked the idea that it could program your body fat. However, I've had it only a month or so and have already had to replace the battery twice!!! I'm not sure if it is a faulty scale or what, but I weighed myself once, then the next time I got on it said "LO", then it wouldn't even go on. I changed the battery and it worked fine - once - then it gave the same message and now it's dead. At $4 a battery, this is turning out to be a very expensive scale. I, too, would return it if I hadn't tossed the box.

I consider myself an intelligent person, but I can not figure out how to get this scale to work. I programmed in my information, but now every time I want to weigh myself I have to RE-program the information (or scroll through it), when all I want to do is step on the scale. It's also a pain that you have to turn the scale on every time you want to weigh. Other models I've seen allow you to turn the scale on by tapping it with your foot, but not this one--you have to push the "on" button, and then scroll to your saved information, and then push "set" through all the information again, and then wait for the 0.0 to show up. Then, half the time, the scale turns itself off before you ever step on it, so you have to repeat this several times until you can get it to work. I have yet to be able to get the body fat percentage to show up, even if I do wipe my feet with a wet paper towel as the instructions suggest. If I hadn't thrown away the box (poor judgment on my part, but it was after Christmas and the boxes were taking over the house), I would take it back to the store. As it is, I'm going to contact Taylor and see if maybe I just got a defective scale. But I don't think I did--I think it's just a crappy scale.

This is a very accurate scale IF you put it on a hard & level surface. I used a spare 12 x 12 tile - works great! Very accurate. The body fat etc. is a guide, I find it ok for trends .... which is what I expected. If you want extreme accuracy, this isn't it. Buy calipers or a dunk tank! It looks great, which makes it a little nicer to step on every day. I would buy it again.

I bought this item not from amazon but from frontgate at the full price and I feel foolish to have found it here so much cheaper. I've been very happy with the scale and all it's claims. It was always accurate because I could double check by getting on my mother's scale and the one I have access to at work. The only difficulty I'm having is replacing the batteries which lasted with constant use for more than a year. Because I like the scale so much, and have no intention of replacing the entire scale because the batteries died, I'm on the net now looking for batteries. The previous review completely confused me because I'm so happy with this purchase (even though I obviously spent too much and recommend always searching amazon first for a product you need). I felt I owed other customers a second opinion.

I would give it 0 stars if I could!

I ordered this puppy thinking it would be amazing after a friend's glowing rerview of the brand (He had a Zeta). Couldn't be further from the truth! It didnt work... I would weight 170 lbs then get off, get back on and weight 65 lbs - cute trick but not possible in the real world of a size 12. Now it says I weight 68 lbs every time I get on it. And trust me, I'm not 12 years old!

I bought this and another model at the same time (one for mom), they both had similar issues. I even had some friends check it out when they were over. Same problem for them too.

So I figured what the heck, I'll replace them for the same brand and model... maybe its some crazy fluke? I mean, how on earth could two different models of scale be defective twice? These are not $20 hardware store scales, after all!

I was wrong... defective again.., both of them... crazy! The numbers on one wont even come up on this one when I took the battery tag off. It's all dashes and dots and peices of what you can tell may be digital numbers IF the rest of the peice were there.

So I did a little research and am going to replace these with Prevention's suggestion of the HoMedics Tri-Fitness Scale (also on sale at Amazon) for about the same price.

Pretty but worthless... hey, that makes it pretty worthless, yes?

I pack my lunch to take to work every day and have several lunc containers that I use, including another Fit & Fresh product. I've used this item twice and will probably never use it again. The ice gel ring is very small and melts almost immediately. The food in the cold compartment does not stay cold (or even cool) and the soup container is not really insulated at all, so that gets cold.

It's a nice concept but just doesn't work. If you have the equipment to reheat your soup and don't pack anything in the bottom that actually needs to stay cool/cold, then this is an okay way to transport your lunch. Just don't expect a steaming bowl of soup and a crisp salad when it's time to eat.

Do not go for the models that do BMI, memory, etc, I had one and returned it due to poor interface, too complicated, and cumbersome to navigate. When all you want is your weight measured, this is a fine product.

I bought this with the brand name Taylor in mind. What a disappointment this product ended up being. I know weight fluctuates but goodness by 11 pounds in day? I don't think so, and yes it was on a hard and level service. If I would of still had the packaging this would of certainly gone back. This may be just a defective scale but something is terribly wrong with this one. And for the money and other research that I did I guess I expected something more accurate. I am trying to lose weight and use the scale as my motivator to get up each morning and get the cardio in, but when the numbers on this scale go up and down by such a large degree each day.....something is wrong.

I bought this yesterday at a local store. It's a little hard to set up and even harder to delete a profile once you set it up. I guess you have to take the batteries out and put them back in and start over if you make a mistake setting it up. The instructions are marginal at best. There's an 8 on the reading and I could not figure out what the 8 meant. I guess it must mean % (percent). It would say 8F:29 on the readout. I guess that means %Fat:29, but I'm not sure as the instuctions do not say. Also I'm not sure the body fat works right. Most every other time I've had it checked I come up with a 26. This thing tells me I'm 29 and sometimes it says 30. I'm taking it back and getting a different kind.

I purchased this scale to see how much my running had paid off. I have lost 30 pounds and at 5'-10" I now weigh 151 lbs and I am very fit. I couldn't wait to check my body fat %. I liked the fact that the scale had an athletic mode because I thought that it would give a better reading of my body fat. After programming the scale, I tried it only to get the ERR3 code. I cleaned and moistened my feet as recommended in the manual only to continue to get the ERR3 code. Nothing I do will give me a body fat reading. Another reviewer, who was overweight, said this scale must only work for those that are "lean and fit". Well I am lean and fit and it still doesn't work. Now I have a very expensive digital scale. I wonder if it is really giving an accurate weight reading!! Don't by a Taylor bodyfat scale!!

no good. i so wanted this to work, i am obsessed with weight and that number really means a lot to me. i couldn't get a consistent reading every time i stepped on it. it was at most 5lbs off! i especially liked this scale because it recognized your weight and knew your stats to get your muscle/water % without keeping it stored in a button memory like the others. i keep my scale in the bathroom and don't want every visitor hitting a button and seeing my last weight. but it just wasn't consistent. i put hand weights on it and it couldn't weigh them correctly. i must have weighed myself 100 times the first day then sadly packed it back in the box and shipped it back. im still using my crappy digital noname scale that only weighs 1 lb too high. (yes i keep a 10lb weight in the bathroom to put on the scale everyday to make sure)

maybe it got knocked around in shipping and the calibration was off, maybe i should only buy a scale in a store... oh well.

This scale does what it says it will do, it weighs things. They also added a clock to it as well as a thermometer for whatever reason, so now I can know the time and temp within my kitchen (thank God my toaster oven, microwave, and regular oven don't all do the same thing). It resets/zeros out nicely. The draw backs to it are that it doesn't come with that nice clear bowl that is pictured but instead a white cheap plastic one and the scale itself just looks cheap. It has grooves in it so that it will fit exactly, but it's a little more effort than I want, the red line is kind of hard to see, and the numbers are small. If I'm just measuring in ounces it's okay, though, and will do in a pinch. I think the escali is a better buy, though, even though it's just as cheaply made as this appears to be.

First off, I'd really be giving this two stars, but since I saw a one star review that had nothing but favorable comments in it, I wanted to bring the average up a little. The other reviewer must have goofed.

Has a little memory to make it seem like the weight is repeatable, i.e. I weigh in, immediately grab less than a pound of stuff and weigh in again, it gives me the same reading. However, if you just wait a couple minutes between weighings, or change your weight by more than a pound, it seems to report the new weight. Does not have a blue backlit display, which was a disappointment since it's one of the things that set it apart. Really, unfortunately, this is a half-pound-increment scale that's faking .2 lb precision with a random number generator and memory function.

It's a decent scale if you only want half-pound accuracy and you're not the type to weigh yourself twice in a row. But between the fake repeatability and lack of advertised accuracy,and the lack of backlight, this isn't worth it.

*Note: I have my scale on the same section of hardwood floor and I stand in the same spot every time, And I use my kitchen scale to verify the weight of the things I hold to test the scale.

No its wasn't the batteries. From what I could figure out, one of the four pressure sensors went bad and that caused the whole thing to malfunction. what a let down. I cant find another scale that looks as nice as this. Just remember, you've been warned. It will break in about one years time.

I purchased this scale and it worked great and was very accurate. It also looked fabulous! Then about 6 weeks after purchase it started weighing about 30 lbs extra. We replaced the battery but that didn't help. It had been over 30 days so Amazon wouldn't let me return it. I found the Soehnle website and they let me return it and sent a replacement since it was under warranty. Of course, I had to pay to ship it to them. Well the new one worked for about 6 months then it started doing the same thing as before, weighing about 30 lbs too much. If I keep returning the scale to the Soehnle people I can get a replacement as long as the warranty is in place but when you have to pay $10-$12 each time you ship it, it gets to be a very expensive scale. We decided to just cut our losses and find another one. Don't waste your money on this scale. I gave it one star because it is a very nice looking scale.

Pros: Classy, understated appearance. Low profile. Very accurate when it works right.

It worked great for perhaps 2 weeks, then occasionally would get stuck in a mode where it added about 30 pounds. New battery made no difference. After a few months, it failed completely.

I did not keep the packaging or receipts (will next time), so I had to toss it out. But first, being an electrical engineer, I took it apart. The soldering on the circuit board was horrendous, a typical result of cost-cutting outsourcing. This little circuit board would normally be assembled by machine, but was instead was manually soldered by someone with obviously little training and/or care (who was likely being paid next to nothing).

To see the classy product of talented designers doomed by clueless cost-cutting is all too common.

The scale is very sleek and stylish. It goes will in my bathroom and is relatively unobtrusive and easy on the eyes. As far as decorations go, not terrible.

The scale itself is not very accurate. I weigh myself 10 minutes apart with no changes and my weight changes by 2-3 pounds. This is not a big deal in and of itself, but I wish there was a bit more precision in a DIGITAL scale.

Additionally, I have found that when two people of similar but different (10-15 pound difference) weigh themselves one after the other, the scale registers the same value for both. I feel like there is some sort of artificial "memory" built in which is troubling.

Overall, I am somewhat unhappy with the product.

Bad scale! No wonder my mom complains about her weight suddenly fluctuating. This thing tells her she's staying the same until the change is extreme enough for it to ignore the stored results.

Ok, so I know that your weight will vary from day to day, and even throughout the day. However, I didn't think the body fat was going to vary so much. I've had this scale for less than 24 hours, and EVERY TIME I STEP ON IT, I get different numbers. Now, I'm a small girl, weighing around 120 with a body fat percentage of... well, I don't know. I stepped on it once, and the body fat was 22.7 percent. Stepped off, let it turn off, and stepped back on. Body fat 20.5 percent. And on and on and on. Went the same way with the weight. Everything from 119.4 to 123.6 within a matter of FIVE MINUTES. I don't know if my posture was different, or if my feet were in different places, or whatever, but if it's going to change that much from moment to moment, it doesn't serve my purposes. I'll be returning this one immediately, and trying a different brand.

I bought the scale a few weeks ago. I was very exciting when it arrived (fast). It was very nice-looking; the glass surface was large, perfect for my boyfriend whose shoe size is 13. The set up was pretty straight forward, especially if guided by the menu. It measured weight, body fat, water percentage, etc.

However the second day because I didn't step on it when it was ready, the LCD got messy. I tried taking out and putting back the batteries, it didn't help. I tried to push the buttons to reset. I held them for a few seconds, then it seemed working.

After that, the scale has been perfect. I guess the LCD display of my particular scale is not that stable.

I was really excited to use ths scale. It promissed a great deal of fetures and all kinds of measurements of your body. However when I finally got the thing from the mail, it couldnt even manage to give me a reading on my weight. I have had regular bathroom scales; I never thought it would be worth the money to have something that did all the stuff this does. I was very wrong, and for several reasons.

*First, you get what you pay for and this one is very durable and sturdy. Most of the "spring" types fail within a year and are wobbly or feel off. This one is like standing on a brick, so it feels solid and there are no moving parts.

*Second, their instructions actually inform you about weight loss and showed me that there are reasons for all the other numbers and how they affect me. BMI, HYDRATION, MUSCLE MASS, WEIGHT

*Third, this scale was very motivational because it always showed improvement, in small increments most of the time, but better than the wobbly scales that seem to stay still or have eratic results.

I have been using this scale for about 5 months now, every day and night. It has helped me understand several things, like drinking coffee and how it changes the weight through dehydration and not loss of fat percent. It will show you this, and muscle mass too. So if your strength training, and trying to loose fat, you will see the weight and those other numbers to determine how your actually doing.

I always hear; "Muscle weighs more than fat, thats why you don't see the loss." Well, now I see what is actually happening and it wasn't muscle, it was that I needed more cardio. Now I am loosing pretty well.

This scale is like a personal trainer, if used with some motivation. :)

Oh, and by the way, I have the same batteries in it as I did when I first bought it.

I Like it a lot, and it looks nice.

I have some serious questions as to the validity of the privious two reviews before mine (26Sep08):

1) Battery Life is great; 5 months and I am on the original batteries. I use it about twice per day.

2) The instructions are in plain English, and another language actually; the scale is easy to use and setup. You will spend about 10 - 20 minutes learning and its done forever. Your friends will ask questions, so help them out - once. :)

I fell for prevention magazine's glowing review of this scale too! This is a very expensive piece of trash. I have owned it for 1 1/2 years and it is never accurate, battery runs out quick, stores information and then "looses" it so you have to re-enter everything over again, so not worth the time or money. The worst part is when you weigh yourself and it weighs you 5 pounds lighter or heavier than it did yesterday, you never know your real weight! First I have to thank Homedics for making this junk and second I would like to thank Prevention magazine for the fake "review" of the scale, it was a paid advertisement by Homedics not a real consumer review, so that makes you loosers too.

The scale seems to calculate everything as it should. I thought the body fat calcuation was incorrect, so I went and had it done on another machine with similar results. I, however, do not think the weight measurement is accurate. It seems to be a few pounds low and there is no way to reset or adjust an offset from the setting.

If you want to feel skinner than you are, you cant go wrong.

I have a similar scale the 5703s thats a BMI scale from Taylor as well I was questioning it when I got on it and it was about 25lbs less than what I weighed at my dr's less than a month ago...I WANTED to believe yea thats what I REALLY weigh but I knew better so I did some testing. Used standardized 5lb weights, and 25lb weight...Items I KNOW they are weighting 5 and 25 lbs what I found out was this for every FIVE lbs you PUT on the scale it subtracts .5lb so i put 5 lbs on it reads 4.5lbs put 25 lbs on it reads 22.5 by using those figures...and adjusting what it TOLD me i weight I was RIGHT at what i weighed at the dr's office after I account for the missing .5lb for every 5 lbs of my true body weight.

I called and told the company this but they really dont seem to care.

I think the price point is good for a scale that also measure body mass index. Not the most attractive thing on earth but I don't really keep my scale out and display it in my bathroom anyway. It looks like what it is intended to be -- a scale -- and that's fine by me. I don't keep it out because it tempts me and my guests to think about weight every time we are using the bathroom. This can make one feel sh-tty as one is actually sh-tting. I take it out from under my sink once a week and weigh myself and I have found it pretty much matches the weight represented on the scale at the gym. My husband says the body mass index works well though I don't use the feature myself and can't attest to its accuracy and I don't know how he knows what accurate is since he's never had his measured by a professional body mass index weigher (doctor, trainer?)). The number display is large and bright. My feet are big and I have to point them outward to fit them on the scale but I see this as a good thing as it forces me to step the same way each time I get on (for consistency's sake). I am only five pounds more than I want to be but for those who are quite large, I think this scale would be a good buy because it goes up to 350 pounds (sorry for those over that weight; scales should be made to host larger people who need them the most!). I also find it weird that scales are not a little longer for those people who are larger. It would seem to me it would be very hard for a larger person to see their weight and I say this seriously. Scales should be made longer so that heavy people don't have to contort themselves to see their weight. Anyway, enough of my rant: don't get obsessed with weighing yourself; you're beautiful regardless of the number!

I received the Ultrasport 50 scale in June 2009. I was surprised to see how small and compact the scale was. It has a great large LED screen with a nice blue backlight. In my opinion the scale is pretty accurate since I compared it to a spring scale I own. The scale seems tough and well built. I have dropped it a couple of times without any issues. I am completely satisfied with the scale and would buy another one without thinking twice. It is great product with great service.

A few days fter recieving the JScale Ultrasport50 scale I used it (only once) per operating instructions. I quickly determined that the scale was several pounds off true weight and returned on 4/03/09 it for warranty service (either refund or repair/recalibrate) to the service facility in Phoenix, AZ. I tried to phone them to find out what was going on - couldn't find a phone number anywhere in the documents, or online. I sent them an email requesting atatus - theye responsed with an automatic email that contained the same info as inthe manual. I finally received an email stating it was shipped. I received it yesterday 4/17/09 and immediately tried to use it. IT WOULD NOT EVEN START! Also, it appeared as though someone who didn't know how to use a Philips screwdriver onthe rear of the case. One screw head was stripped so that it w ouldn't accept a screwdriver. I had to send it back AGAIN on 4/18/09.

There is no communication between company and customer. It even appears that they have gone to extraordinary lengths to avoid communications.

I hope they are able to repair the scale properly this time.

A very unsatisfied customer. I think Amazon should vet the manufacturers upfront to ensure the manufacturer's customer service is adequate.

I like this digital scale. It's easy to use and easy to read. On the first 2 days that I used it, I wasn't sure how accurate it was: I would weight myself twice in a row and get 2 different weights. But after the first 2 days, it seems to have "settled in", and has been very reliable ever since. Even if I weigth myself 3 times in a row, I get the same result. I like that the scale reports weight in 1/2 pound increments - even a 1/2 pound weight loss is encouraging!

Exacta is easy to set up, lightweight, and not conspicuously bad-looking in the bathroom. I like it for its consistent results, and being relatively accurate compared to doctor's office scale. Of course there is no way to know how accurate the body fat calculations are. Maybe looking at differences is the way to go.

I loved it and may be using it a bit too often (3 times a day) before it mysteriously stopped working after 3 months...

Think twice if you are tempted!

I bought this scale from Joe Muscle. 6 weeks into buying it, it stopped registering the weight. Everything just weighs 0.0. Joe Muscle won't take it back or exchange it since it is 30 days past the purchase date. They told me I must contact the manufacturer which I have done and am waiting to hear back.

Bottom line, it is better to buy electronic things like this at a real store where you can easily return it when it craps out after 6 weeks.

Not to mention the $10 for shipping was ridiculous.

Lesson learned. Don't buy this.

If you want a nice accurate scale keep looking. This model is lousy at telling you what you weigh. Nothing disappoints more than hopping on and discovering YAY you weigh a certain weight..then trying again a few minutes later and discover NO you actually weigh 5 pounds more!

I called the company and they told me you had to wait a few seconds between weighing in for the scale to recalibrate. So I did that, but it didnt make any difference. My weight has varied as much as 10 pounds on this scale.

On the plus side, its streamlined with a clear read out. But who cares if the read out is so off!

This is the worst scale I have ever used. Just like what most of the other reviewers have mentioned, the weight fluctuates even when you measure the weight successively within a minute. The fluctuation on my scale is within 4 lbs. It is very frustrating to use such an inaccurate scale, because it is as good as not using one. I will never trust the Healthometer brand ever.

And for the reviewer who thinks that other reviewers couldn't "follow instructions" and stand still while they weigh themselves, please don't insult other people's intelligence.

I bought this to try and track my weight, but the displayed weight on this scale will vary up to 10 lbs. within a few minutes. Generally I found the further back on the scale I stood the lighter I got. Also, it was very finicky about standing absolutely still.

This is a great all around digital scale... as long as you read the instructions. You need to stand still while it weighs you. Large digital display is easy to read. The slim design is easy to hide in the bathroom and the price was great. I went to the doctor's two days ago and this scale weighed me in at the same as their calibrated office scale.
Bottom Line: works just fine even though I don't always like the answer.

I was tired of trying to read the standard bathroom scale I was using. My eyesight is not great, and if I shifted to see the needle better, the weight changed.

With this device you mount the LCD display on the wall at the height you want. (9 volt battery or power supply can be used. I'm using the battery.

The only drawback of this model is that it reads within 1/2 lb. You can't weigh your baby on it. Otherwise it will do a good job for older kids and adults.

I bought this scale for our church group to use for doing a Christ centered weight loss program. It works great! It seems to be extremely accurate and easy to use. Very quick weigh-in compared to normal doctor's scales. Highly recommend. The price seems very resonable too.

Well designed product. Provides exactly what the consumer is looking for -- a scale that does not take any time to settle down nor does it leave any room for misreading the value. Cord from scale to readout is a convenient length, but tight coil takes a little time to relax. Readout is easy to read and clear, though the half pound increment of "8" as in ounces is a little backward. I would have preferred to see ".5" instead but that's a minor point.

I have bought two Homedics scales. Shame on me. The first one (non-digital) broke after four months. No refund. Then I bought a digital scale (SC-310) and right out of the box the thing doesn't work. It's straight-up faulty. Never buy a Homedics product. They are in the business of selling "passable" products for a quick buck. No quality control. No consistency.

Bed Bath & Beyond is where I purchased this product, HoMedics SC-310 LCD Digital Scale. It is simple, clean design, with easy to read digital numbers. I read all the provided instructions, read the underside of the scale too, and it has been very accurate. I noticed if you just step on the scale before "waking it up", you could have false erratic readings. Make sure you zero it out buy stepping on, then off the scale, wait for it to zero out, to read 0.0, then weigh in.
